Los Angeles police reported a dozen arrests early Thursday after crowds took to the streets following the Dodgers' World Series win.

Video showed some people in Los Angeles throwing objects at police while sirens blared and officers asked them to leave the area after the Dodgers beat the Yankees in Game 5 in New York. A bus was set on fire and some in the crowd were seen breaking into shops.

There were some “unruly and at times violent and hostile celebrations” with several acts of vandalism, including the burning of a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus, Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Drake Madison said in an email.

“Metro is disappointed and angered by the senseless vandalism of one of our buses following the Dodgers World Series win this evening,” the transportation agency said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.

The arrests included charges including failure to break and enter, receiving stolen property and commercial burglary, Madison said.

There were also several incidents of street robberies downtown and police used less-lethal munitions to control several hostile and violent crowds, Madison said. In the coming days, investigators would try to identify those responsible for the crimes, he said.

Another video showed revelers standing on the roof of a bus waving a Dodgers banner and people wearing sneakers leaving a boarded-up store. It was not known whether anyone was injured.

The Dodgers plan to celebrate their World Series championship on Friday with a parade downtown followed by a celebration at Dodger Stadium. The team said Wednesday that fans will not be able to attend both events due to logistics, traffic and time constraints.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
