#7/8 Bobcats Drop Road Contest in #9/10 Maine

ORONO, Maine – The No. 7/8 Quinnipiac University men's hockey team fell 2-1 to No. 9/10 Maine on Friday night in the first of two weekend games featuring top-10 opponents.

The host Black Bears got off to a good start, scoring two goals in the first period to give the home team a lead.

First year Tyler Borgula scored his first collegiate goal late in the second period, ripping off a one-timer Davis Pennington to the bottom right corner to cut the deficit in half.

Another first year, Dylan Silversteinmade his first collegiate start between the pipes and made 27 saves.

Statistics and notes

  • Borgula became the second Bobcat in as many games to score his first goal in a Quinnipiac jersey.
  • The first-year tally also marked Quinnipiac's first power-play goal of the season.
  • Chris Pelosi He also scored his first point as a Bobcat, winning the faceoff to start the play on goal.
  • Pennington is ranked 49th in his career and has accumulated points in consecutive contests entering the 2024-25 season.
