The victim's name has not been released and the chief medical examiner's office will schedule an autopsy.

Officers responding to a report of a disturbance at the inn Wednesday afternoon found an armed man barricaded inside. According to Formella, the man was shot by police at some point during the long standoff.

“At this time, there are no known physical injuries to any police officers there and there is no known danger to the public,” Formella said in a news release shortly after 3 a.m. “The incident is being withheld pending the completion of a formal interview.”

The exact circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.
