Storms return to Dallas-Fort Worth on Thursday, with possible 1-inch hail and gusty winds

A line of showers and thunderstorms moving through North Texas later this week could become severe and pose a minor flood threat, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Parts of Dallas-Fort Worth could see more than an inch of rain between Thursday and Saturday, according to the weather service. Some surrounding areas could grow between 3 and 4 inches.

Some storms could produce 1-inch hail and have wind gusts between 50 and 60 miles per hour.

The heaviest rain is expected west of I-35 and north of I-20.

The latest forecast shows the chance of precipitation returning throughout the day on Thursday, increasing on Friday and decreasing to a minimum on Saturday. Sunday is expected to be dry.

The weather service warned that outdoor activities could be affected over the next few days.
