Police fatally shoot man during standoff at NH bed-and-breakfast

Police fatally shot a man at a bed and breakfast in Plymouth, New Hampshire, early Thursday morning, officials said.

According to a statement from the state Attorney General's Office, officers were on scene after receiving a “disturbance call” from the Federal House Inn at 27 Route 25 on Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived, they found the man armed and barricaded in the inn.

Negotiations with the man were ongoing at the time of the incident, the statement said.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family and an autopsy will be scheduled by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, authorities said. The name of the officer involved in the incident is being withheld pending the completion of a formal interview.

There were no known physical injuries to police officers, the statement said.

The exact circumstances of this incident are still under investigation.
