Actress Cheryl Hines wears no ring as RFK Jr. faces infidelity scandal

Cheryl Hinesbest known for her role in “Leave it, Larry!”, was spotted without her wedding ring after the 70-year-old Robert F. Kennedy Jr.alleged purely digital sexting relationship with 31-year-old New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

The actress, who has been married to Kennedy since 2014, celebrated her tenth anniversary with the politician last month. However, the couple has been making headlines recently for another reason.

Although Cheryl Hines has not yet publicly commented on the scandal involving her husband and a much younger political reporter, she was recently spotted without a wedding ring, fueling speculation that she may have separated from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the wake of the controversy.

A day after reports surfaced of Kennedy's alleged “personal relationship” with campaign reporter Olivia Nuzzi, his wife Cheryl Hines was seen in Milan without her wedding ring.

The 59-year-old actress attended a Milan Fashion Week after-party on Friday, September 20, wearing a satin top, trousers and a leather jacket – but according to photos published Daily Mailone of her signature accessories was conspicuously missing.

Her solo performance took place just before Hines' birthday on Saturday, September 21, and she shared it on her Instagram stories – without Kennedy performing.

Rumors about RFK Jr.’s private life surface

On Thursday, September 19, the alleged “personal relationship” between former presidential candidate Kennedy and reporter Olivia Nuzzi came to light after New York Magazine announced her leave of absence in a note to readers.

The memo said Nuzzi, 31, was placed on leave after she “entered into a personal relationship with a former individual relevant to the 2024 campaign.” A source familiar with the situation told CNN that Nuzzi was connected to Kennedy.

The magazine also made it clear that the relationship was “a violation of the magazine's standards regarding conflicts of interest and disclosures” and that if the magazine had known about it, Nuzzi “would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.”

Were there warning signs from the beginning?

After the actress and politician's wedding in August 2014, author Jerry Oppenheimer revealed the alleged reactions of Hines' friends to the wedding in his book “RFK Jr.: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Dark Side of the Dream.”

“Any woman who gets involved with Bobby does so with her eyes open or her brain cut off. Any woman who thinks she can change Bobby is misguided and willfully ignorant,” he said. “Women need to understand what they're getting into when they're with him. You can hate it, you can make excuses for it, you can do whatever you want, it doesn't change the fact that he has a long history of doing certain things.”

Olivia Nuzzi speaks out

Shortly after the news became known, Nuzzi said in a statement People Magazine that “the nature of some communications” between her and “a former rapporteur had become personal”.

She added that she “neither directly reported on the issue nor used it as a source” during this period.

“The relationship was never physical, but it should have been disclosed to avoid the appearance of a conflict,” she said. “I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I have disappointed, especially my colleagues in New York.”

Source says Cheryl Hines may leave her husband after new allegations

A source close to Hines and Kennedy, who has not had contact with the couple since the scandal broke, expressed skepticism about the future of their relationship and suggested that it may not last much longer.

“I would be shocked if Cheryl stayed,” the source told New York Post“(Kennedy) has always been known as a flirt and more, even Cheryl knows that. But at least in public (until now) he seemed faithful. Hollywood is not good for Cheryl.”

“He's been traveling a lot this year, so maybe it was different and put the relationship to the test,” another insider speculated to Page Sixgiven the circumstances of RFK Jr.'s ambitious presidential campaign, which was suspended last month.
