Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign released a new ad on its social media platform Truth Social on Saturday calling on former President Donald Trump to join her on the debate stage again.

Trump, the GOP candidate, founded Truth Social in early 2022 after being banned from other social media platforms, particularly Twitter, for violating its rules shortly before the riots at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and “because of the risk of further “Incitement to violence” had been banned.

He is now allowed back on The platform prides itself on protecting free expression and having less moderation and restrictions than other mainstream platforms.

While Harris, the Democratic nominee, and her campaign communicate primarily on other mainstream social media platforms, they have begun posting more frequently on Trump's website. In a 30-second post published Saturday, the vice president's campaign criticized Trump for not agreeing to a second debate with Harris.

The ad opens with footage of football players training and playing, with a voiceover saying: “Winners never give in to a challenge. Champions know they can happen anytime, anywhere,” referencing Trump’s comments when he tried to get President Joe Biden to debate him this year.

It continues: “But losers whine and babble and take their ball home,” as a video plays of Trump missing a close putt on the golf course.

The ad then shows a clip from a Harris rally in Georgia in late July, in which Harris says, “Well, Donald, I hope you'll reconsider meeting me on the debate stage. If you have something to say, tell me.” Face.”

Newsweek emailed Harris and Trump's campaign for comment on Sunday.

Trump and Harris faced off on September 10 for their first and likely only debate before this year's election. Most post-debate polls showed Harris either gaining slightly or maintaining a narrow lead over Trump.

Last Saturday, Harris accepted CNN's invitation to a second debate with Trump, scheduled for October 23, just under two weeks before the November 5 presidential election.

The proposed debate would have similar rules and procedures to the first presidential debate of this election cycle between Trump and Biden in late June, which was also moderated by CNN. Less than a month after that debate, on July 21, Biden dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Harris. It was widely believed that Trump had outperformed Biden in this debate.

At a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, last weekend, Trump said, “I've already had two (debates),” adding that it had “good entertainment value,” but “it's just too late.” Voting has already begun. “She had her chance to do it on Fox (News).”

Early in-person voting has opened in several states, including Minnesota, South Dakota and Virginia. More states will begin early voting in mid-October. During the 2020 election, Trump participated in the final presidential debate with Biden on October 22 after early voting began in several states. In 2016, he debated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on October 19.
