The Miami Dolphins will have two players returning to practice on Wednesday who missed the first four games due to injuries, placing them on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) or Injured Reserve (IR) lists.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. (PUP) and cornerback Cam Smith (IR) are the only two players whose windows are open to begin practice.

Defensive end Bradley Chubb, guard Isaiah Wynn and linebacker Cameron Goode remain on the PUP list, although they are allowed to begin practicing this week. Wide receiver River Cracraft and safety Patrick McMorris remain on the IR list.

Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips will not be available as he is sidelined with an injury he sustained in Monday night's loss to Tennessee.

“We are still gathering information about it and working on it. He was in a good mood last night. He’s in good spirits today,” Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday. “So we should have more concrete information here soon.

“I'm pretty sure he won't be available in a short week this week, but the information that is presented to us we will be able to provide clarity. And is this a multi-week affair or something?”

McDaniel said it was only a matter of time before Cracraft and Chubb were ready. There were no setbacks.

“Throughout the rehabilitation there were no setbacks or really unexpected presentations. “Bradley (Chubb) had a pretty serious injury that he’s coping with very, very well in his development,” McDaniel said. “And I think River (Cracraft) is right on schedule, so there are no setbacks to really articulate.”

Cornerback Kendall Fuller and tackle Terron Armstead have been in the concussion protocol since last Sunday. McDaniel said he expects to have more information on both on Wednesday.

“I think Fuller and Armstead are doing better,” McDaniel said. “I expect a surge in participation tomorrow and hope to be released this week.”

McDaniel also provided an update on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is listed as having a concussion but is on the injured list and will not be eligible to return until Week 8.

“Honestly, where Tua is in his protocol, I think it's important to me that we did the right thing for him from a health standpoint and from a health standpoint for the organization,” McDaniel said. “So before the bye-bye week, I wasn't planning on getting involved in this process at all considering he's on IR, but he's doing well and he's very active. So we’ll know more after the bye week.”

As for Wynn and Jordan Poyer, who missed Monday night with a shin injury, there is nothing new to report.

“Same story, there’s nothing to report about Isaiah Wynn other than he works hard. And (Jordan) Poyer, we'll learn more in the next few days, I wouldn't rule him out from playing in this game,” McDaniel said. “He is a warrior who I know will get through anything he can. We're going to give his body some time and he's going to be diligent in the training room trying to be a part of this game against New England.”
