WVU quarterback Garrett Greene leaves the game against Oklahoma State

West Virginia's talented signal-caller Garrett Greene left the game against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma State early Saturday with an apparent injury.

After completing a 39-yard run to put the Mountaineers deep into Cowboys territory, Greene came up with his right shoulder and promptly exited the game.

If Greene is unable to return, it would be a huge loss for WVU, which has relied on the senior slinger for four seasons now.

Sophomore Nicco Marchiol came on for Greene and was able to pick up where he left off, throwing a 10-yard touchdown on his first-ever attempt to give the Mountaineers a 10-0 lead. Before his exit, Greene had 43 passing yards while hitting two of his four attempts from downfield.

After two straight losses, the Cowboys now face another double-digit deficit, this time on home soil. Quarterback Alan Bowman and Co. have not yet found their rhythm in the game and only experienced one first down in the first quarter.

Green returned to the game midway through the second quarter and led another WVU push.
