Can Washington keep the Carolina Panthers' running game a secret?

1 minute, 10 seconds Read

The Washington Commanders host the Carolina Panthers in their seventh game and are looking to improve to 5-2 after a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens. In the latest “Trap or Dive” episode we previewed the match against the Carolina Panthers. One of the biggest questions in the game revolves around the defense's ability to overcome its losses on the defensive line and control the line of scrimmage. The Carolina Panthers come into the game with one win this year, but the team's strength undoubtedly lies in offense, and rightly so. The Panthers have one of the lowest pressure and sack rates in the NFL, but also have one of the better yards per carry averages in the league. Carolina comes into this week's matchup having averaged 130 rushing yards per game over the last four games. This presents another opportunity for defense commanders to find answers to stop the escape.

You can listen to the full preview of the Trap or Dive game below. We discussed the following:

  • Kliff Kingsbury gave up the running game in Baltimore but should bounce back against Carolina
  • Jayden Daniels wins Rookie of the Week again and Chicago Bears fans are having nervous breakdowns online
  • Jonathan Allen's influence on Johnny Newton
  • Will the Panthers' offensive line and rush attack keep Carolina in the game?
