Odds, picks and predictions for the Boston Bruins and the Nashville Predators

3 minutes, 48 seconds Read

The Boston Bruins (3-2-1) takes on the Nashville Predators (0-5-0) as part of the NHL’s “Frozen Frenzy” Tuesday. Puck drop from Bridgestone Arena is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let's analyze the 24/7 NHL odds from BetMGM Sportsbook Bruins vs. Predators Opportunities and meet our NHL expert picks and predictions.

Season Series: First Meeting; Boston went 2-0 last season

The B's are on the final leg of a three-game road trip after defeating Colorado 5-3 on Wednesday as +118 underdogs and losing 2-1 in overtime to Utah on Saturday as -139 favorites. RW David Pastrnak was a -2, had 2 shots on goal, 0 points and a costly penalty in overtime against Utah. It was only the second time this season that he remained without a point.

The Preds are still winless after making perhaps the biggest splash via free agency this offseason. On Saturday, they lost 5-2 to the Detroit Red Wings as -192 home favorites. C Steven Stamkos scored his first goal as a Pred. It was his patented position on the left wing on the power play for a one-timer. The game was tied 2-1 in the first minute of the third period, but Detroit scored 3 more goals to end the game.

The Bruins at the Predators were the projected goaltenders

Jeremy Swayman (2-1-1, 2.71 GAA, .905 SV%) vs. Juuse Saros (0-4-0, 3.64 GAA, 0.875 SV%)

Swayman was the unlucky loser last time out, stopping 30 of 32 in Saturday's OT loss at Utah. He made one start last season against Nashville and stopped 33 of 35 in a 3-2 win.

Saros hasn't been terrible so far. Although he allowed six goals for Seattle in his second start, he only allowed two or three the rest of the game. He stopped 19 of 22 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Last season he was 0-2-0 against Boston with a 2.58 GAA and a .918 SV%.

Bruins at Predators picks and predictions

forecast

Bruins 5, Predators 3

Money line

I understand why Nashville is preferred here. The Predators are far too talented to go 0-5 or 0-6. But it happens. They have been outscored 19-7 in their last four games. The Preds are 1-5-1 against Boston this decade. After this game, they can face the Chicago Blackhawks (Friday) and Columbus Blue Jackets (Saturday). I am TAKE BRUINS (+115).

Puck Line/Against the Spread

Pastrnak had a bad game last time. I have a feeling he will be particularly motivated in this case. Take DAVID PASTRNAK GOAL AT ALL TIMES (+125).

Over/Under

The B's are 4-2 O/U and Nashville is 3-2 so far. Boston is 10th with 3.5 goals per game and 7th with a shooting percentage of 13.3%. Nashville has lost its last 4 games by multiple goals and has already allowed 5 empty goals.

This one works ABOUT 6 (-110).
