The Marvel Cinematic Universe is officially getting its Spider-Man 4 as star Tom Holland has confirmed that filming will begin in summer 2025.

Holland finally confirmed the Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, clearly saying, “It's happening.” Although various Marvel Studios figures have been commenting on a possible fourth Spider-Man for some time now, This is the first official news that it will definitely be released.

“We start filming next summer,” Holland said. “Everything is ready to go. We're almost there. It's super exciting; I can barely wait for it.”

No details have been revealed about what Spider-Man 4 will be about, although it will presumably pick up where the last film left off. Holland has previously said that the script for the film “lit a fire within him” and expressed his desire to bring Into the Spider-Verse protagonist Miles Morales into the MCU as well.

“If I were lucky enough to somehow bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and the MCU, I would like to do for a little child what (Robert Downey Jr.) did for me,” he said.

The last film has stopped, and Spoiler warning for the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Homerather tragic. After Holland's Spider-Man ripped a hole in the multiverse, he had to erase himself from the minds of everyone he loved to fix the problem. This meant that his girlfriend MJ, his best friend Ned, and everyone else in the world never knew he existed.

In the final scene, Dutchman Peter Parker moves into his own dingy apartment in New York City. The scenes are reminiscent of Tobey Maguire's original Spider-Man film, perhaps a smaller, more down-to-earth adventure than his galaxy- and multiverse-spanning escapades recently released.

This would certainly be a fitting setting for Morales' appearance, as the character usually appears as a younger and clumsy Spider-Man alongside the older Parker. However, fans will have to wait and see how the film turns out, and considering how well Marvel Studios covered up Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men's roles in the last film, it could be a while before major storylines are reached revealed.
