It's playoff time: For the third time in the last four seasons, Vancouver Whitecaps FC is in the MLS Cup Playoffs. The 'Caps will begin their playoff campaign in the Western Conference Wild Card match against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers this Wednesday at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon. The two teams split their season series with a record of 1 win, 1 loss and 1 loss. The last meeting took place at the end of September when there was a 1-1 draw at BC Place. Additionally, Wednesday's clash marks the third time the Caps will face the Timbers in the MLS postseason, having last met in the 2015 Western Conference semifinals on a two-legged basis. The winner will face LAFC in the best-of-three round-one series. The first game will take place on Sunday, October 27th in Los Angeles.

GAULDEN MILESTONES: Since joining the club in 2021, Ryan Gauld has achieved one milestone after another in the blue and white. The Scot led the club in the MLS era with 49 assists and 87 goal contributions in all competitions and was one of the league's most influential playmakers. This past Saturday evening, Gauld made history again as the Caps captain now becomes the first player in the club's MLS era to score 10+ goals and 10+ assists in two consecutive seasons. Gauld also ranks 10th in MLS-era appearances with 131 and is now six away from finishing second in goals scored in all MLS-era competitions.
