Opinions differ on the Vikings vs. Texans game in Week 3

Vikings 24, Texans 21 – Pete Prisco, CBS Sports

This is a big game between two undefeated teams. The Vikings are a surprise, while the Texans were expected to perform well. Minnesota's defense was really good. They will give CJ Stroud a lot of chances. I think that will be the difference in the game. They will force turnovers and apply a lot of pressure. The Vikings win by a narrow margin.

Texans 27, Vikings 21 – Employees, Bleacher Report

In one of two meetings between undefeated teams, the Houston Texans face a surprise team in the Minnesota Vikings, who defeated the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 at home last week.

Under head coach Kevin O'Connell, an established playmaker, Sam Darnold is playing his best football. In two games, he has thrown four touchdowns and two interceptions with a success rate of 72 percent.

(Kristopher, NFL analyst at Bleacher Report) Knox sees this matchup as a potential statement game for Darnold, but expects the Vikings quarterback to struggle in a loss to the Texans' third-best overall defense.

“This game will tell us a lot about how good the Vikings are,” Knox said. “Last week's convincing win over San Francisco showed that Minnesota can compete in the NFC race, and there are plenty of reasons to believe this game was no fluke. Brian Flores is getting the defense going, Justin Jefferson is as dangerous as ever, and Darnold is delivering above-average quarterback play.”

“That said, I feel like Darnold will come back down to earth against a Texans defense that can make life difficult for opposing signal-callers,” Knox added. “Jefferson (quadriceps) may not be at 100 percent and we still don't know the status of Jordan Addison, who missed last week's game with an ankle injury. Houston got over a sloppy game against Chicago last Sunday and I think a more focused effort will get them the win in this game.”
