Game notes

  • The Boston Bruins are trying to correct their course as the Dallas Stars come to town tonight – and are finding some offense along the way.
  • The Bruins return home after a lackluster three-game road trip that culminated in a 4-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. The B's were 1-1-1 on the trip and allowed four goals in the shootout.
  • The B's have to find a way to stay outside the box. The penalties added up before the Bruins hit the road. They then received a total of 13 penalties on the road trip – including six on Tuesday against Nashville.
  • Jim Montgomery has turned heads in recent games, but the team is still searching for an answer on offense. And it's still looking for production from its peak. Elias Lindholm hasn't picked up a point in the last four games. David Pastrnak scored a goal in the same period. Although Brad Marchand has some assists, he hasn't found the finish yet. Pavel Zacha is pointless in his last five games and Charlie Coyle has just one point so far this season – a power play goal.
  • The Bruins weren't there yesterday, so we'll have to wait a little later to see what the lines and defensive pairings look like tonight.
  • Through seven games, Dallas currently has the best penalty kill at 95.5%. Dallas last played on Tuesday, losing 4-2 on the road to the Buffalo Sabres. The Stars started the season with a four-game winning streak and have lost both of their away games.
  • If I had to guess, I would say it starts tonight with Joonas Korpisalo.
  • See you tonight!
