Why fans think Gracie Abrams' song “Cool” is about Dylan O'Brien

Gracie Abrams Maybe he just rumored he's an ex Dylan O'Brien in full swing in their new song “Cool”.

The song, which the 25-year-old singer first debuted onstage in Chicago on September 27, has been officially released on the deluxe version of The secret of uswhich was released on October 18th – and fans are pretty sure who she's talking about.

What is “Cool” by Gracie Abrams about?

The song is about a “fake superstar” who “bombarded Gracie with love” and made her believe that they would end up together, only for it all to be for naught.

On the bridge she sings: “I'm just looking for the silver lining. Stay out of sight / Half of my mind, you're still busy. Kill a while, steal my time/Thank you for nothing. Stop it, I'll be fine, I'll be fine.

She also accuses this person of “acting as if” during their time together.

“I don’t act like you do / You run your hands through your hair, fake superstar / They say you miss me, you’re sad, yeah, I bet you are.”

Why do fans think “Cool” is about Dylan O’Brien?

Fans are convinced that the track is about Dylan, who Gracie was romantically linked to via DeuxMoi in April 2022 after they were spotted together in New York.

In the track, Gracie mentions various women Dylan has been linked to, including Sadie Sink, Sarah RamosAnd Elle Fanning.

“You left Sadie and Sarah stranded when they opened up,” she sings at one point. “A waste of runny mascara, you thought we wouldn’t talk / Wrong thought, ah.”

As the song progresses, Gracie changes the lyrics – “I bet you met with Elle and said the same shit” – with several other names that people believe could be related to Dylan in some way – including a “Dev” and a “Cass”. ”

Even before the title was released, fans were convinced that it could be this Teen Wolf Actor.

One fan wrote on Dylan Rumors, oh my god free Dylan and Gracie.”

However, some fans aren't so convinced, as one user harshly put it: “People think 'Cool' by Gracie Abrams is about Dylan O'Brien because of the Genius lyric annotations. But all of these are far-fetched or just plain misinformation. You’re all really becoming Facebook moms.”
