Buddy Hield, Warriors experience another win against Jazz to open the season, 127-86

After defeating the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2024-25 season opener, the Golden State Warriors picked up right where they left off against the Utah Jazz in their second game of the regular season. Despite a slow offensive start in the first quarter, the Warriors pulled off another powerful win over the Jazz on Friday night, 127-86.

Buddy Hield continued his torrid start to the season, scoring 27 points off the bench on fiery 10-of-14 shooting from the field, making seven 3-pointers in just 20 minutes.

All members of the Warriors played again on Friday, with six members scoring in double figures.

Without playing in the fourth quarter for the second consecutive game, Steph Curry dropped 20 points on 7 of 20 shooting and made four three-pointers. Curry scored 13 of his 20 points in an explosive run in the third quarter. Andrew Wiggins posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds in 23 minutes. Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 12 points on a perfect 6 of 6 from the field against the Jazz.

After struggling to find the bottom of the net against the Blazers, Brandin Podziemski came rolling off the bench and scored 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field. Podziemski helped lead a backup team that outscored Utah 80-47.

While the offense ran away with the game, the Warriors defense kept Jazz star forward Laur Markkanen at bay. After scoring 35 points in the opening game against the Grizzlies, Markkanen scored just 13 points on 4 of 17 shots from the field and 1 of 5 from deep.

Through two games, the Warriors have wins by 36 and 36 respectively. Scored 41 points. The Warriors are now the only team in NBA history to begin the season outscoring opponents by 35 or more points in consecutive games.

The Warriors return to the Bay Area on Sunday for their home opener against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
