Braedyn Locke had some nice moments for the Wisconsin football team when he took over at quarterback after Tyler Van Dyke was injured early in the Badgers' third game of the season in September.

But interceptions have been a glaring weakness all season. For the most part, the interceptions haven't cost the Badgers a game. See you Saturday night against No. 3 Penn State.

His interception, which gave the Badgers a 10-7 lead in the third quarter and was returned for a 19-yard touchdown, completely changed the dynamic. A three-point lead quickly turned into a four-point deficit, which soon turned into a 28-13 loss, continuing a Badgers winning streak against top-three opponents dating back to 2010.

There was still plenty of time to recover, but this tough call seemed to suck the life out of Wisconsin and the Camp Randall Stadium crowd. Meanwhile, it gave new life to Penn State, which improved to 7-0.

The Nittany Lions played with a backup quarterback in the second half after starter Drew Allar was sidelined with an injury late in the second quarter. While Locke completed just 52.4% of his passes, Penn State's Beau Pribula stepped up and took advantage of his opportunity, leading two long touchdown drives in the fourth quarter to put the game on ice. He completed 85% of his passes.

Locke's interception streak reached five games. He has six and only seven touchdown passes this season.

The loss was not solely due to Locke. The defense didn't get off the field on third downs (Penn State was 8 of 14 in the game) and the Nittany Lions' defensive line, as advertised, held the Badgers' running game well below their season average.

But the decisive play was the pick-six. And that's what was on the minds of fans and former players as Wisconsin fell to 5-3 on the season.
