FC Barcelona ace Lamine Yamal provokes Real Madrid after the Clasico

FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal provoked Real Madrid and its fans with comments he made after his team's confident victory against Los Blancos in El Clasico on Saturday.

The 17-year-old had a blast at the Bernabeu as Hansi Flick's side extended their lead at the top of the table to six points with a resounding 4-0 win.

Lamine fired Barca's third goal past a hapless Andriy Lunin into the top corner, mocked Vinicius Jr by mimicking his celebration dance with Alejandro Balde and pointed to the name on his back in front of the home crowd, as Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo once did did at Camp Nou.

In the mixed zone after the game, Lamine, smiling through his Blaugrana braces, joked that “it's a lot of fun when you can hear your fans more than your opponents in the stadium.”

Lamine revealed how he told his friends that he would without question score his first goal in El Clasico and when he did he would show off his braces as part of a promise he fulfilled when he scored in the 77th minute completed his thunderous shot over his supposedly weaker foot.

Perhaps some consider him too reliant on his blessed left wand. Lamine joked that after his goal the madridistas said: “We thought you didn't have a right leg.”

Another criticism that has previously been leveled at Flick's high-flyers is that they have not yet faced elite competition, which Lamine brought up.

“When we started winning La Liga they were said to be mid-table rivals, but now we have beaten two of the best teams in the world in the space of a week,” he explained.

That was a reference to last year's Champions League semi-final opponents Bayern Munich and Madrid, who were impressively beaten 4-1 and 4-0 within four days.

Lamine noted that Barca “scored two goals and wanted the third and then the fourth.”

“But there are only three points and we have to keep going. We will enjoy a few days off and then think about Espanyol,” he said, with the final game being played at the Montjuic Stadium on November 3rd.
