The Broncos' Sean Payton casually trashed the Panthers in the press conference after the win

The Denver Broncos took on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and won 28-14 in a game that was never close after a 21-point explosion from Sean Payton's offense in the second quarter. It was a pretty good win for the Broncos and just a normal loss for the Panthers, who got Bryce Young back in the game while Andy Dalton recovered from a car accident.

Despite the score, the game got interesting as Payton showed no respect for his opponent. He ran several trick plays in the fourth quarter that resulted in the Broncos scoring multiple touchdowns, which upset Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn so much that he yelled at Payton for it after the game.

Then, when Payton spoke to reporters in his postgame press conference, he casually trashed the Panthers by bluntly stating that he wasn't that impressed with Denver's defense because the Panthers weren't a good team.

“That’s not a good offense we played,” Payton said. “It's just the truth. We expected that and we will see much better teams.”

Payton coached in the NFC South for 15 years as head coach of the New Orleans Saints and the rivalries run deep in that division. Maybe that explains Payton's attitude toward the Panthers. Or maybe he just doesn't really like her. It's hard to say, but it's clear he doesn't think much of the organization.

The Broncos are now 5-3 on the year, while the Panthers return to Carolina at 1-7.
