Who is the best rapper from New York? Not Fat Joe, according to fans.

The Bronx native appeared in Game 3 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Monday night.

While he performed a medley of hits including “Lean Back,” “All the Way Up” and the Ja Rule track “New York,” the Grammy-nominated rapper delivered the pre-game performance following Ice Cube's performance at the Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles Game 2. But fans felt the performances weren't up to par.

It also doesn't help that the Dodgers lead the Yankees 3-0, which leaves the door open for some hilarious reactions that are damaging to both New York music and baseball.

“They made Fat Joe Pinch work for the Yankees,” one user wrote on X.

The Dodgers are on the verge of winning the World Series after taking a 3-0 lead against the Yankees

Aaron Judges' bat remained ice cold and the Dodgers took advantage as they are now just one win away from the franchise's eighth World Series title.

Sports pulse

“Yankees fans watch Fat Joe single-handedly destroy the aura of Yankee Stadium,” another captioned a meme from angry sports fans.

David Ortiz, a Fox Sports commentator and former Boston Red Sox slugger, said he could sense the lack of enthusiasm in the stadium.

“Even when Fat Joe came out, the body language from the fans was damning,” he said on the show. “I asked myself, ‘What’s going on here? Are we in a funeral yet?'”

Some fans wondered if Brooklyn, New York rapper Jay-Z was busy. Other reactions from fans on social media were brutal.

“Dear New York, Fat Joe is not Ice Cube. Sincerely, the rest of us,” one X user wrote.

“Fat Joe opening for the Yankees might be one of the worst things I've ever seen,” another person wrote.

“I'm not a hater BUT Fat Joe opening for the Yankees might be one of the worst things I've ever seen,” another X user wrote. “I think they got it 50% OFF in the SALE.”

“Fire anyone from the Yankees who thought this was a good idea and let Fat Joe do whatever that was,” one sports show host responded. “I'm literally speechless… We don't even deserve to win after this performance. George Steinbrenner would ban Fat Joe from Yankee Stadium afterward.”

Steinbrenner is the late former owner of the Yankees.

His performance may not have been quite up to par for New Yorkers, but he certainly nailed the role.

“That Fat Joe on the hill in Tims. I know these groundskeepers are having a heart attack off camera,” wrote comedian Roy Woods Jr.
