If history is any indicator, the Dodgers are ready win their eighth World Series tonight. That's because all 24 previous teams to go 3-0 in the World Series have won the Fall Classic.

The Boys in Blue continued their dominance in the series after the 4-2 win on Monday evening and when the Dodgers face the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, it could lead to the team's second World Series championship in five years.

Shohei Ohtani, with a partially dislocated shoulder, He led off Monday's game with a four-pitch walk, Walker Buehler pitched five two-hit innings and Freddie Freeman hit his third home run of the Series. It was the fifth consecutive Series game in which Freeman hit a home run, setting a Series record.

“I saw the ball very well and obviously didn’t make any mistakes. Hopefully we can just keep going tomorrow. We have one more,” Freeman said.

Teams with a 3-0 series lead have won Game 4 of the World Series 21 times, with the three exceptions: the Baltimore Orioles in 1970 against the Cincinnati Reds; the Yankees against the New York Giants in 1937; and the Philadelphia Athletics in 1910 against the Chicago Cubs.

In the end, all three teams earned victories and won the World Series in Game 5.

The Dodgers players don't take their competition lightly and admit there's still a lot of battle ahead of them.

“We know they're not going to give up, it's not going to be easy, but we're just coming tomorrow with the same mentality and trying to score runs and win the game,” Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández said after Monday night's win.

The Dodgers have made the playoffs in 12 consecutive seasons, 11 of them as National League West champions. They won the World Series championship in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

Dodgers fans were denied the celebratory parade in 2020 due to COVID restrictions, so anticipation is high for a victory parade this time.

When asked if the Dodgers will pick up a win in Game 4, Dodgers broadcaster Jose responded Mota said the Boys in Blue “have the Mercedes look and the work ethic, which is great because they know the other team is the best in the American League … and you have to go out there and perform.”

Here in Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass echoed hopes of a Game 4 win.

“I'll be glued to the TV wishing I could be there. We did so well! We want them to finish it as quickly as possible and come home … and plan a parade,” she said.
