Tate McRae's racy new Skims advert has been branded 'cheap' as fans react to the pop star's campaign

Pop star Tate McRae stunned with a bold new ad for Kim Kardashian's loungewear brand – and Skims calls it “the brand's sexiest holiday campaign yet.”

Tate, 21,'s saucy pictures were unveiled at the Skims Holiday Shop on October 28.

Tate, who is dating fellow musician The Kid Laroi, is friends with Kim's sister Kendall Jenner and is close to Justin and Hailey Bieber.

Tate was directed by Harmony Korine, 51, the American filmmaker known for his scandalous films such as Kids, Gummo and Spring Breakers.

In the steamy snaps, the Greedy singer showed off the cropped sweater pointelle set, stretch lace teddy bear and faux fur boots.

Some fans loved the photos, calling them the “best collaboration yet,” praising “Thanks, Skims” and calling Kim a “marketing genius” – but others found the photos “cheap” and were shocked by the creative direction.

Others said they planned to stock up on the Skims collection as many of the items sold out quickly, and wrote approvingly that the So You Think You Can Dance alum wears the brand, so they plan to wear it too.

“Sorry boss, but I'm not going to have a productive afternoon,” one X user joked about the scantily clad ad campaign.

Some were surprised by the choice, writing that the collaboration was “not on my bingo card for 2024” and they “didn't see this coming.”

Another quipped: “If only her music was that good.”

Many of her fans called for her to become more famous, with one writing: “We NEED her to be a top pop girl.”

“I love Tate so this is mostly shades for Kim and Skims but why do her photoshoots for Skims look so cheap???” one confused commenter asked.

“Tate McRae was a perfect fit. It's captivating, beautiful and truly instantaneous. She looks incredible in every shot and her confident, playful spirit brings the new collection to life.”

A controversial figure for his raw films, Harmony gained attention when he signed a petition in 2009 calling for the release of director Roman Polanski over the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl more than 40 years ago.
