Mookie Betts reveals how he really felt about the World Series incident with Yankees fans

The banned Yankees fan who grabbed Mookie Betts claimed he and his pal decided to “D up.”

Well, it turns out Betts would have had no problem throwing down.

After winning his third World Series on Wednesday night, Betts finally revealed his true thoughts about the two fans who grabbed him during Game 4 on Tuesday when he caught a ball in foul territory.

“That was wild, man. That was really wild. I’ve never experienced anything like this,” Betts told the Fox crew after the Dodgers’ 7-6 win. “I told my wife it was the second time in my life I ever wanted to fight someone. I understand, man. I understand it. I don’t know if he was trying to get the ball, I don’t know what he really wanted to do, but he had to do what he had to do and that’s how it is.”

One of the lasting memories of that World Series will be when Yankees fans Austin Capobioanco and friend John Peter heckled Betts for a foul ball down the right field line in Game 4.

Capobianco grabbed Betts' glove to remove the ball, while Peter grabbed Betts' right hand during the skirmish.

The fans were sent off for their actions, while Gleyber Torres was ruled out due to fan interference.

Betts, for his part, downplayed the incident before Game 5.

“I didn’t even know he grabbed my hand,” he said after the Yankees’ 11-4 win on Tuesday. “It’s totally fine.”

The former AL MVP added: “When it comes to the person and the game, it doesn’t matter. We lost. It's irrelevant. I'm fine, he's fine. Everything is cool. We lost the game, that’s kind of what I’m focused on. We need to turn the page and prepare for tomorrow.”

With his second Dodgers title in hand after his game-winning sacrifice fly on Thursday, Betts revealed his true thoughts when discussing the situation with David Ortiz.

His sentiments echoed those of his teammates, who immediately afterwards had no problem calling out fans for their behavior.

Dodgers shortstop Tommy Edman called it “ridiculous” and “unacceptable,” while third baseman Max Muncy told The Post the two should receive an “immediate lifetime ban.”

“They should never be allowed into a baseball stadium again,” Muncy said. “If it's a coincidence that you're trying to catch the ball and you bump into a (player), that's one thing. But in this scenario, two guys try to grab Mookie's glove and then his hand – that's a lifetime ban.

He added: “This is borderline assault. You could press charges for that.”
