Joe Rogan explains the details about Harris missing out on the “opportunity” to appear on his podcast

Joe Rogan revealed that it was the Harris campaign that tried to get its candidate on his show before declining his “open invitation” to stop by any time, even at midnight, when she was in Texas last week.

The host of “The Joe Rogan Experience” spoke with satirist and podcast host Konstantin Kisin, who brought up Rogan’s original plan to sit down with Harris. Rogan said earlier this week that the interview was scrapped because the campaign demanded that the interview only last an hour and that he had to travel to their meeting instead of recording at his podcasting studio in Austin, Texas.

“She had the opportunity to come,” Rogan said in the episode released Wednesday.

He added that he didn't agree to the campaign's terms: “You might look at this and say, 'Oh, you're a diva,' but she had the opportunity to come here when she was in Texas and I have “I literally gave her.” I said if she's ready at 10, we'll come back at 10. I do it at nine in the morning, I do it at 10 p.m. I do it at midnight, when she’s awake, when, you know, she wants to drink a Red Bull.”

Kisin made allegations that Rogan was a “diva” when he was willing to give her the opportunity to speak.

“She actually came forward when she found out (Trump) was there. So her camp reached out to me. So I said, 'Great, I'd like to talk to her.' But it was very difficult to pin down. They wanted to travel and see what happened. If I go somewhere, there will be other people in the room. And they certainly want to control a lot of things. Rogan said, referring to employees who tried to disrupt the interview.

He continued: “My whole goal with her and with him is to just talk. Just sit down and have a conversation like a human. You find out things about people. You get a feeling for them, at least a real feeling. That was.” I don't give a fuck what we talk about. I just want to talk to you.

Kisin asked whether the Harris campaign might be “wary” of him and believe he was on Trump’s side.

“I don’t know, I mean…just based on my looks, people always assumed I was some right-wing MAGA guy. I was a Bernie fan, you know,” Rogan said. “I am definitely a politically homeless person. You know, I've always considered myself a left-wing person. I never thought I would ever vote right, but then the tides of the culture shifted in a very bizarre way. And that.” has just made me a lot more aware over time of what this stuff is really about.

He then condemned extremists on both sides of the political spectrum, but particularly attacked liberals for appearing to no longer defend free speech.

“The only solution to bad speech is better speech. We always knew that. But they had power over social media and these collective groups of people who all had the same ideology. And then that tribal mentality sets in and you lose the perspective that you should have as an educated person who realizes that everyone needs to be able to speak and we need to figure out who is right. And you could be wrong, and you could hold on to that idea. “I’m right and you’re doing the whole thing a terrible disservice,” Rogan said.

Rogan first explained why the interview was scrapped in an X post on Monday, writing, “Also, I must note that the Harris campaign did not forgo doing the podcast.”

“They offered an appointment for Tuesday but I would have had to travel to see her and they only wanted to do an hour. I firmly believe this is best done in the studio in Austin,” he added. “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a person. I really hope we can do this.”

Shortly after release, it was announced that Ohio Senator JD Vance would appear on the podcast.

The vice presidential candidate sat down with Rogan in his studio in Austin on Wednesday morning to record an interview. Vance told rally attendees in Pennsylvania later in the day that it “lasted almost four hours, so officially I've done more interview time than Kamala Harris did in the entire campaign, just today.”
