Mookie Betts shares what he really felt when Yankee fans grabbed him

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts kept his emotions under control after being grabbed by New York Yankees fans during Game 4 of the World Series. However, after the Dodgers clinched the series in Game 5, Betts became a little more honest about the moment that captivated the baseball world.

Long story short: Betts saw red as soon as he was grabbed by the two New York fans on the right field wall.

“That was wild, man. That was really wild. I’ve never experienced anything like that,” Betts told Fox after the Dodgers’ comeback win in the Bronx. “I told my wife it was the second time in my life I wanted to fight someone. I understand, man. I understand. I don't know if he was trying to get the ball, I don't know what he really wanted, but he had to do what he had to do and it is what it is.

You have to love that Betts went from “I wanted to fight the boys” to “They had to do what they had to do” while walking back the comments in real time, but you certainly can't blame him for being incredible in the momentarily upset.

We're talking about an 8-time All-Star who went to catch a ball when a fan suddenly grabbed his wrist and another fan ripped the baseball out of his glove. In the World Series!

“When it comes to the person in the game, it doesn't matter,” Betts said after Los Angeles' Game 4 loss, in which he was grabbed by the two fans. “We lost. That is irrelevant. I'm doing well. He's fine. Everything is cool. We lost the game and that’s kind of what I’m focused on. We have to turn the tide and prepare for tomorrow.”

The two fans who got their hands on Betts were not allowed into Yankee Stadium for Game 5 on Wednesday night. However, the Yankees didn't let the seats go to waste and made the grand gesture of presenting the tickets to a young fan named Calvin Young, who is battling childhood cancer.
