Mavericks vs. Rockets preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

1 minute, 55 seconds Read

The Dallas Mavericks (3-1) play a division game at home on Halloween Thursday night and host the Houston Rockets (2-2). Dallas is coming off a big road win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Rockets have already played three division games, beating the Memphis Grizzlies and splitting two games against the San Antonio Spurs. The Rockets had two days off and last played on Monday. Let's get to the most important things you should know about this game:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets
  • WHAT: The start of a five-game homestand for the Mavericks
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
  • WHEN: 7:30 Clock CST
  • HOW: MavsTV, NBA League Pass, Channel 8, Channel 29 (local fans), also playback with Kirk, Matthew and David

The injury report is similar to Tuesday's game: Dante Exum and Maxi Kleber are the Dallas portion of the report, but that's not news to anyone who's been paying attention. As you're checking in, Exum is recovering from a wrist injury and Maxi Kleber has suffered a hamstring injury. Steven Adams is questionable at the time of this report at 2:30 p.m. CST due to various lower body ailments. He played against Spurs, so it stands to reason that he will return to action after two days of rest.

Dallas will look to get Luka Doncic going, who is shooting an incredibly poor 36% from the floor overall. However, he will have access to one of the Rockets' many talented defenders. So if tonight is another tough night, that might be the additional reason for me, more than Doncic's finishing issues.

There have been a lot of good posts, great postgame coverage and a lot of work from the Mavs Moneyball team lately. If you haven't visited the page since Tuesday evening, open another tab and look at all the new posts. We would be pleased!

As you can see below, you can join me and a few other Mavs Moneyball people in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (although I may not be able to start until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I live on Pod Maverick after the game on YouTube. We were supposed to start around 11:45 p.m. Thank you for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let's go, Mavs!
