The death of legendary fashion designer Rohit Bal has sent shockwaves across both the entertainment and fashion industries.

From Bollywood actors like Sonam Kapoor and Ananya Panday to designer Manish Malhotra, many took to social media to pay their respects to Rohit Bal, fondly called 'Gudda' by his admirers.

Sonam Kapoor wrote, “Dear Gudda, I hear of your demise on the way to celebrate Diwali in your beautiful creation which you generously lent to me for the second time. I was lucky enough to know you, carry you and walk for you several times.” . I hope you are always your biggest fan.

She also posted a few pictures with Rohit Bal.

Actress Ananya Panday, who recently got the chance to be Rohit Bal's 'final' muse in his comeback show at Lakme Fashion Week 2024, also expressed her heartfelt condolences.

Sharing an adorable picture with Rohit Bal from the show, she wrote, “Gudda (red heart emoji and a pigeon emoji). “Om shanti.”

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra described Rohit Bal's death as “sad and shocking”.

Pulkit Samrat wrote on his Instagram story: “We will miss the original.”

The news of his death was shared on the official Instagram account of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) on Friday.

“We mourn the passing of legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal's work has redefined Indian fashion and inspired generations. His.” “The legacy of artistry, innovation and forward-thinking will live on in the world of fashion,” the post says.

In October 2024, Bal returned to the catwalk almost a year after a health scare. He showcased his collection 'Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe' at the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week.

Bal hasn't been feeling well for a long time. In 2023, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Delhi due to heart problems.

Weeks after being admitted to the hospital, Bal wrote a post thanking everyone for their concern.

“Dear friends, family and supporters, I am deeply touched by your love and prayers during my illness. Your support has been a beacon of hope and strength and has helped me on my road to recovery. As I heal, I am reminded of the resilience of our bond and our shared dreams. And I assure you that your trust in our vision is the driving force behind their continued success. Thank you for being my light moving forward with hope and courage in these challenging times,” wrote the Srinagar-born designer.

Bal was 63 years old. His death has definitely left a void in the Indian fashion industry. (ANI)
