Mike Tyson sees Jake Paul 'walking around' in boxing match: 'I have to catch him and slaughter him'

Mike Tyson doesn't see Jake Paul collide directly with him as they meet in the squared circle.

Tyson and Paul will face off in an eight-round professional bout on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The matchup is the first combat sports event to be streamed live on Netflix for subscribers.

As the bell rings, Tyson thinks Paul will be running a lot once he gets hit. From then on, it's up to the former heavyweight champion to trap him.

“I see him running around, I have to catch him and slaughter him,” Tyson told TalkSport.

“No, (I’m not afraid of him) because he got in the ring. When my mother gets in the ring, she has a problem with me. Whoever is in this ring has a problem. Don’t go into the ring if you don’t want this problem.”

Tyson has not competed since an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020 and fought without a decision after eight rounds. The last professional boxing match for “Iron” was in 2005, where he lost by sixth-round TKO after failing to answer the bell in his final professional boxing match.

As a professional boxer, Paul has a 10-1 record, including wins over MMA stars Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Mike Perry and Tyron Woodley.

Tyson sees what Paul has done to put the sport of boxing in the spotlight and sees the improvements Paul has made. But the 58-year-old says the experience gap is simply ridiculous.

“He’s a good little fighter, but he only has (11) fights,” Tyson said. “That’s considered amateur in our field.”
