Saturday Night Live When it comes to the Vice President of the United States, viewers will see a double take tonight.

Kamala Harris will appear on the NBC late-night show on Saturday, Deadline can confirm with campaign sources. During an unscheduled stopover in the Big Apple, the Vice President will join her comedic doppelganger Maya Rudolph live from New York SNLIt's cold, open, I hear.

From stops in Georgian and a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, Harris and Air Force 2 landed at LaGuardia Airport around 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET, with no indication why the vice president was there. Harris is racing from one battleground state to another in the final days before this very close election and won't be staying in New York long. A revised White House schedule has her leaving the city for Detroit at 9:40 p.m. PT/12:40 p.m. ET. The Veep offers Sunday events in the Motor City and more.

No word on whether the real Gov. Tim Walz, President Joe Biden, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), or PastSNL Host Donald Trump will also appear on the fifth show of NBC's 50th season on Saturday, but 30 Rock is full of Secret Service right now, I've learned. It's almost certain that Dana Carvey's side is dividing the performance of the current POTUS and others SNL Cast members appear as contestants in an episode full of politics tonight.

The vice president has long been an avowed fan of Rudolph's Emmy-winning portrayal of her, joining a very long tradition of White House residents and candidates taking to Stage 8H.

There was President Gerald Ford's pre-filmed cameo in 1975, Arizona Sen. John McCain's hosting appearance and subsequent appearances in 2002, and then Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's miss-it appearance in 2007 would. In 2015, both Trump and Hillary Clinton were guests, with the former's appearance as host on Lorne Michaels causing much excitement SNL. Except of course for real DC Power players, perhaps the most famous or infamous of them all SNL Impressions of top politicians was Tina Fey's Sarah Palin. What's more, the then-Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee's performance in the final weeks of 2008 was a meta-masterclass — if it weren't for the sidelong glance Palin and Fey gave each other as they crossed the stage.

As you can see:

John Mulaney is hosting again SNL Tonight he's fronting the sketch show for the fifth time. However, the true motivation for the vice president's visit may be a little clearer when chart-topper Chappell Roan is there as a musical guest.
