The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Professional Standards Division has issued a statement regarding an altercation between police officers and fans at the Florida-Georgia game Saturday night.

Video shared on social media shows several officials punching fans in the stands. It is currently unclear what led to this use of force by the officers, although there appears to have been some sort of argument in the stands, but here is video from the scene at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville:

Just hours after the game ended, a statement from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Professional Standards Division was released. The organization says it is “aware of the videos circulating among the crowd” and that administrative reviews of the incident “are opening.”

The agency says it will have no further comment until “all the facts” on the matter are known.

As for the game itself, Georgia won 34-20. The Bulldogs didn't take the lead for the first time until the second half, but were able to pull away from Florida with two touchdowns in the final minutes of the game.
