NBA star Jaxson Hayes was seen pushing and spitting on his ex-girlfriend as shocking new footage reopens the investigation

The NBA will reopen its investigation into a 2021 incident between Los Angeles Lakers star Jaxson Hayes and his then-girlfriend Sofia Jamora after shocking new footage emerged over the weekend.

Hayes, who was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans at the time of the incident, was arrested in July 2021 after police responded to a domestic violence call in Woodland Hills, California.

Nearly a year later, the 24-year-old was sentenced to three years probation, 450 hours of community service and a year of weekly domestic violence counts after claiming he failed to resist arrest and false imprisonment.

Despite the court ruling, the NBA chose not to discipline Hayes following its own investigation. But three years after the incident, that could change if the league reopens the investigation.

Early Sunday morning, TMZ Sports shared five and a half minutes of security camera footage of the argument in question between Hayes and Jamora.

The Lakers center first appeared to drag his then-girlfriend out of a doorway around 1:35 a.m. while she said, “Stop! Let me go!”

After running off-camera into another room, Hayes followed her and shouted, “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

Jamora is heard initially blaming Hayes' dogs for her smaller pup's injury before the argument broke out. She can be heard telling her partner to “get off” before he finally reappears on the Ring camera around 1:47 a.m.

The basketball player's cousin tried in vain to calm him down as he returned to Jamora's room before a loud crash was heard. The latter then appeared to scream in pain, again asking him to stop.

Shortly after 2am, the couple were shown leaving the apartment and continuing their argument in the driveway, with Jamora saying: “I'm not letting you hit me anymore.” How the hell do I look like a punching bag? '

Shortly after she made that comment, Hayes appeared to push Jamora aside and walk away before, in a sickening moment, turning around and spitting in her direction.

The influencer was then heard telling his cousin to get him off the premises before admitting: “I don't know what else to do.”

The NBA will now reopen its investigation into the Lakers center three years later

Photos taken after the incident show Jamora's legs and arms covered in bruises.

“Based on the media report and video released this morning, we are reopening our investigation,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass was quoted as saying by ESPN.

A spokesman for Hayes told the broadcaster that they were ready to work with the NBA again after the past.

Hayes was seen pushing an officer before being Tasered and arrested following the 2021 incident, before telling officers that the woman was his girlfriend and that she had “thrown a few things” during they argued.

Lawyers representing Jamora filed a lawsuit against the NBA star on Tuesday, reporting that Robert T. Tamate, the official with whom Hayes clashed, had previously met with his lawyers and was told by him for “unknown reasons “was compensated.

Hayes signed a two-year, $4.6 million contract with the Lakers in 2023 after ending his five-year stint with the Pelicans.
