MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Vikings needed until the first possession of the third quarter against the Indianapolis Colts to score their first points on Sunday night.

They used the steady combination of their wide receiver tandem – Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison – to move 70 yards in nine plays, capping the drive with Addison's one-handed catch for a 4-yard touchdown.

Early in the drive, quarterback Sam Darnold had hit Jefferson, giving him gains of 19 and 21 yards. Addison had earlier caught a 10-yard pass to convert a third down.

It was Darnold's 21st completion of the game in 25 attempts and his eighth completion on a play-action pass of the game. And it made up for his first-half fumble, which was returned for a Colts touchdown.
