What the Broncos said after losing to the Ravens

1 minute, 14 seconds Read

Head coach Sean Payton

On the Broncos' loss, 41-10:

“They beat us, practically in all three phases. We didn't do a good enough job as coaches. We lost to a good football team. That's disappointing. … I mentioned earlier in the week some of the numbers can be a little misleading considering what they do well defensively because you end up in a game where you have to become one-dimensional. Apparently this happened to us today.

On the Ravens' goals at the end of the second quarter and beginning of the third quarter:

“I mean, it's a big change. When you play on the road against a team as good as this, you want to make it to the fourth quarter and we couldn't do that.”

On whether he was so aggressive on fourth down because of Baltimore's offense:

“Yes. I think there are some games where tastes need to change. Of course we felt like this was one of those games that can be different depending on the opponent.”

On trick play touchdown call:

“It's hard to explain. They play zero-funnel coverage. Things can get complicated. We have a number of zero-funnel beaters, but one of them, the guy who isn't technically covered, is the QB. But.”, if you don’t get a zero funnel, then you check to another move. I wouldn't have said it if I had known it would have been so close. Sutton made a good throw.
