Election Day: See who's on your ballot and where you can vote

ROCHESTER, NY – After record-breaking early voting turnout in Monroe County, the countdown to Election Day is on. Anyone who has not yet cast their vote will do so on Tuesday.

While the presidential race is on the ballot, there are many other important positions to consider. These include races for Congress, U.S. Senate, Family Court, State Supreme Court and more.

On Election Day, you must vote at your polling place, which can change from year to year. You can check your polling location on your county's election board website. You can also view a sample ballot to see what your options are.

Reviewing the ballot in advance is a good way to ensure that all available candidates are known. Some candidates, such as both presidential candidates, appear twice on the same ballot from different parties. Voters should only fill in one circle in each column with a blue or black pen.

First-time voters must show identification; voters who have already voted before only need a signature. Polling stations are open on election day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

What do the latest polls show about the presidential race?

The latest NBC poll shows the presidential race is dead: both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump received 49% of respondents. The remaining 2% either voted for a third-party candidate or were undecided.

There is a significant gender gap in voter preferences: 67% of Harris supporters are women and 69% of Trump supporters are men. Additionally, 54% of registered voters in the survey said they have already voted, with another 11% planning to vote early. Harris leads by about seven points among early voters, while Trump has a 16-point lead among those who wait until Election Day.

In such a close race, the true winner may not be known on election night itself, as each state has different rules for counting early votes and mail-in ballots.

While polls give a sense of voter sentiment, they are not perfect predictors, with a margin of error of plus or minus three percent in this particular poll. Ultimately, the Electoral College, not the popular vote, determines the winner of the presidential election.
