Thoughts, art and dance to Valparaíso at the Puerto de Ideas Festival 2024

The Puerto de Ideas Valparaíso 2024 festival includes more than 30 activities in different locations around the city on November 8th, 9th and 10th. Responding to an invitation to connect with the depth of human experience, the event presented by Colbún and Coopeuch featured Charles and the Dialogues along with the intellectual conversations from different parts of the world, after spectacular international dance and conversation rounds until the end of the great artists.

On November 8th, the French company Naïf Production presented the Sombras mechanics at the Parque Cultural de Valparaíso. It is a return of three acrobatic masters on an exploration of the human vineyards crossed by the coast. Combining hip-hop and contemporary circus, the evening stage evokes a humanity in its origins, without the intention of redefining the relationships that were then transformed into a gestural poetry.

In the mixed scenario, on the evening of November 9th, the public was able to unsettle Puccini's opera. Women's voices, an obra of the Italian company Artemis Danza, which went to Valparaíso, towards the general manager Monica Casadei. With this propaganda, Casadei was in the home of Giacomo Puccini's four enduring heroes: Tosca, Madame Butterfly, Mimì and Turandot, exploring his stories and feelings in a combination of contemporary dance, orchestral music and electronic sounds. A stop that encourages you to go out in public, a sensual and emotional journey into the future of these iconic female figures.

Continuously with the activities on the part of creation as a protagonist, to create conversations throughout life and attract influential artists. For example, art historian Claudia Campaña presents Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers, a friend who explores the museum with the National Gallery of London, which is celebrating its bicentenary. With an eye on visual material and a photo archive detailed for the exhibition, he analyzed Van Gogh's last years in Arles, revealing him to the painter as a meticulous artist and seeking his view of art as a “cable on the earth”.

As a public audience, Alberto Cruz was able to host the exhibition in Valparaíso. Between the space and the image, dedicated to Mr. Alberto Cruz Covarrubias (1917-2013), the fundamental figure of Chilean architecture and the Premio Nacional de Arquitectura 1975, known for his innovative power that fused architecture, poetry and dibujo. Housed in the Baburizza Museum, the museum presents artworks from his most stressed projects, along with small buildings and architectural plans. Domingo 10, on stage, Doctor of Artificial Intelligence (IA) Nayat Sánchez-Pi, Director of Inria Chile, moderates the conference The Role of IA in the Process of Creative Arts. In this Charla, Sánchez-Pi began to incorporate artificial intelligence into art and creativity, exploring whether this technology could help artists reproduce the human hood. The presentation is intended to highlight the benefits of automating goals and generating ideas, as well as the legal and ethical principles of IA.
