Amazon Prime Video has released the first full trailer for the upcoming series “Cross”.

Aldis Hodge plays detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross. The series is based on the novels by James Patterson and features the iconic character. In the trailer, which can be seen in full below, Cross must hunt down a murderer who has targeted the detective.

“Cross” premieres on November 14th with the complete first season with eight episodes on Prime Video. As previously reported, the series has already been renewed for the second season. In addition to Hodge, the series stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold.

Ben Watkins developed the series for television and serves as showrunner and executive producer through his Blue Monday Productions banner. Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn and Craig Siebels also executive produce, while Patterson, Bill Robinson and Patrick Santa serve as executive producers for James Patterson Entertainment. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost are executive producers for Skydance Television. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, CBS Studios (formerly Paramount Television Studios) and Skydance Television.

If “Cross” proves popular, it would be the latest successful Amazon series based on a long-running fictional character. The company had a huge success on its hands with “Reacher,” starring Alan Ritchson and based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. Likewise, Amazon's longest-running series to date has been the police drama “Bosch,” based on the Harry Bosch novels by Michael Connelly. Titus Welliver starred as Bosch and now leads the spinoff series Bosch: Legacy on Amazon Freevee. A second spin-off starring Maggie Q as investigator Renée Ballard is also in the works at Prime Video.
