It will be warmer again on Tuesday, rain is on the way, and it could snow on Thursday

Several areas of the state reached or exceeded record temperatures Monday. That's likely to happen again Tuesday in southern Minnesota. If we hit 80 degrees in the Twin Cities, it would be one of the newest 80-degree temperatures on record.

Precipitation appears to be heaviest in southeastern Minnesota and the north coast into western Wisconsin.

It still appears possible that southwestern Minnesota in the Twin Cities will become “dry” from this system as drier air is sucked in on the southwest side of the low. This could limit rainfall in the Twin Cities area.
