Art, cars and more for Dias de los Muertos – GilaValleyCentral

GREENLEE COUNTY – The Day of the Dead will be celebrated in style this weekend in Greenlee County.

The Morenci Community Center is hosting a special Dias de los Muertos evening with swimming, a movie, music and crafts. The family-friendly event takes place on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m

The 11th annual Colors of Copper Art Show takes place at the Art Depot at Clifton Station on Friday and Saturday.

The exhibition features various types of art, including painting, sculpture, photography and more, as well as ofrendas and poetry; and requires all artists to incorporate copper into the submitted piece in some way. This year's theme is Dias de los Muertos.

Colors of Copper is open both days from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the Clifton Social Club is hosting a Dias de los Muertos celebration with a DJ and menu from 8 p.m. to midnight.

In Graham County, eastern Arizona, Hispanic Heritage Corp. the third annual Dias de los Muertos Car Show at Eastern Arizona College's south campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The awards are presented in multiple categories, with Best of Show being awarded to the Overall, Public Choice, Motorcycle and Bicycle categories.
