All good things must come to an end. Well, maybe good things. Some of us were probably thinking that our summer days might be packed and wishing for autumnal temperatures since we are finally at the end of October. However, it will still be a mild day tomorrow, just not as warm as the last few days. There is a front that will move through tonight into tomorrow morning that will bring us back into fall temperatures. On the backside of this front is a true October air mass that will linger into Saturday.

Note that the front moving through the Great Lakes this evening will have quite a bit of clouds but very little rain. That will be the same case as it slides through New England tomorrow. I can't rule out a spotty shower, but it's around 10-20%. Most of us won't see a drop of rain. And for those who do, it will only be a small part of your day. So our dry autumn continues…

Speaking of dry autumn: Boston and Worcester are among the ten driest autumn months. Other than that tiny isolated chance of showers tomorrow, this is our only chance of rain during the 7 day forecast (next Wednesday).

Thursday's front is the first of two fronts that will move through over the next few days. Both lacked moisture, but both provided fairly significant cooling. This past Monday, Boston set a new daily record of 83° and (aside from the immediate coast) we've spent the last two days in temperatures in the high 70s… just like summer! This first front on Thursday will push our temperatures back to typical October levels, but the second will really shock the system as temperatures rise for a few days in mid-November.
