Badgers news: Immediate reaction to 28-13 loss to Penn State

1 minute, 13 seconds Read

The Wisconsin Badgers lost their first game in over a month on Saturday, losing 28-13 to the Penn State Nittany Lions, dropping them to 5-3 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.

After a three-game winning streak propelled the program forward in recent weeks, Wisconsin simply didn't have enough answers on Saturday, resulting in a tough loss in a game that felt winnable through three quarters.

Offensively, the Badgers couldn't really get anything going as quarterback Braedyn Locke completed just 52 percent of his passes while running back Tawee Walker averaged 2.7 yards per carry in a difficult game overall. Locke also threw a pick-six that ended up being the turning point in the game.

Defensively, Wisconsin held up really well, allowing just seven points in three quarters before finally slowing down in the fourth quarter. It was a strong performance from Mike Tressel's squad, who bounced back after an early touchdown to really limit Penn State and give their offense a chance.

After the game, Badgers insider Rohan Chakravarthi shared his immediate reaction to the Badgers' 28-13 loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions and pointed out key takeaways from the game.

With the loss, Wisconsin is now 5-3 on the season and heads back on the road next week to face an Iowa Hawkeyes team that just beat Northwestern 40-14 and also moves to 5-3 in the conference and improved 3:2.
