Fox News host Bret Baier says he understands why people were upset about his recent controversial interview with Kamala Harris that was parodied Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

“I understand the criticism,” said BaierVanity Fair on Monday. “I wonder if that was different.”

During last week's interview, Baier interrupted Harris frequently.

Baier argued he had subjected other high-profile executives to a similar style, including an interview with Donald Trump in 2023.

“If you remember the one-on-one conversation with former President Trump, he didn't like it at the time,” the Fox News host added.

However, a CNN analysis found that Trump interrupted Harris 38 times in 27 minutes, about twice as often as Trump interrupted.

The Harris interview also drew criticism for the way the moderator handled discussion of Trump's recent comments in which he suggested using the military to control “radical left-wing lunatics,” whom he described as ” “the enemy from within”.

Baier later described the decision to run the separate club as a mistake.

“I made a mistake and I want to say that I made a mistake,” Baier told viewers last week.
