Brianna LaPaglia warned against dating celebrities ahead of her split from Zach Bryan

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia does not recommend dating anyone in the public eye.

On the same day Zach Bryan confirmed their breakup, the Barstool Sports host's appearance on Haliey Welch'S Say Tuah The podcast was released and she didn't hold back when it came to expressing why she doesn't support people dating celebrities.

“I said on Best friends (podcast) that I would never date someone famous,” she admitted during the Oct. 22 episode, which was recorded before Brianna and Zach spoke publicly about their breakup. “I literally never wanted it and then it just happened.”

However, when asked why she broke her own rules and dated the country singer, Brianna had a hard time finding the right words. “Uh, I don’t know,” she stammered. “I wish…don't date famous people.”

She later added: “I think it's better for the spirit not to date someone famous. “It's a lot.”

Zach, 28, posted a statement on his Instagram Story on Oct. 22, writing of his girlfriend of more than a year: “Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her with all my heart.”

The “Something in the Orange” singer added, “I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways.”

While she expressed that she felt “blindsided” by her ex, the internet personality shared that the breakup had only happened a day before and that he posted about it online before she had a chance to process what had happened.

“I wanted to heal privately and I didn't know he was going to post that and we broke up yesterday,” Brianna said in a tearful YouTube video on Oct. 22. “I wasn’t ready to do anything publicly.”

E! News previously reached out to Zach's rep for comment and did not receive a response.

Brianna, who began dating the Grammy winner in July 2023 after he slid into her DMs, reflected on how the devastating breakup has challenged her outlook on love.

“I'm at the point where I'm asking, 'How can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through things you shouldn't do?'” she asked. “I guess you just love them and see the good in them. How can you give someone your whole self and be gone within a few days? It’s really, really heartbreaking.”
