Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting in Colorado last Friday, the team announced.

According to a report from Denver TV station 9News, Reynolds, now a member of the Denver Broncos, and two others were chased and shot at by a group of men from a strip club in Colorado. According to the report, Reynolds was shot twice, in the arm and in the back of the head.

Shortly after the report was released, the Broncos released a statement saying Reynolds suffered “minor injuries” and could not comment further due to the ongoing litigation. According to the report, Denver police announced Wednesday that they had arrested two men connected to the shooting.

Reynolds played in five games for Denver after joining the Broncos as a free agent and had 12 catches for 183 yards. He was placed on injured reserve after Week 5 due to a broken finger and missed the final two games.

Reynolds signed a two-year, $9 million contract with Denver in free agency in March. Reynolds joined the Lions in the first year of the rebuild under Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes in 2021 and played 38 games in Detroit, finishing with 97 catches for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns. He started last season as an underdog on the NFC championship team when Campbell said, “He's been kind of an unsung hero for us because he does so many different jobs.”
