FORT COLLINS, Colo. – – Kobe Johnson He returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown and helped Colorado State to a 17-6 victory over New Mexico on Saturday.

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and Caleb Goodie also combined for a 46-yard touchdown as the Rams (5-3, 3-0 Mountain West Conference) scored all 17 points in the second quarter of the home win.

Johnson hit the punt down his left sideline and danced diagonally through defenders until it sailed down the right sideline.

Luke Drzewiecki opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal in the first minute of the second quarter and finished with a 43-yarder at 6:22 of the third quarter for the Lobos (3-5, 2-2).

After the first field goal, Fowler-Nicolosi found Goodie deep in the middle and hit him with speed at the goal line at the post pattern. Fowler-Nicolosi finished 11 of 20 for 142 yards passing.

Ryan Davis had a career day for New Mexico with nine catches for 146 yards, while Devon Dampier was 23 of 40 passing for 319 yards, but he had two interceptions.

The Lobos had 453 yards to the Rams' 334, but New Mexico had four turnovers.
