The Dallas Cowboys will have to play at least a few games without their starting QB. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Dak Prescott will miss “multiple games” after suffering a hamstring injury Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Prescott suffered an injury at the end of the third quarter. He initially felt a pulling sensation in the hamstring muscles, but “didn’t think much of it.”

“Then on the next play I felt a tug. I never felt that. It was hard to walk on at that point,” Prescott said after the game. He did not return in the fourth quarter and was replaced by backup QB Cooper Rush, who will start in Prescott's place.

Pelissero reported that the Cowboys have not yet decided whether to place Prescott on injured reserve, but the injury was “worse than expected.”

The Cowboys have had a disastrous season so far, and injuries to key players like Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland have played a role. And if Prescott is out for even a few weeks beyond that, it's less likely they'll be able to get their act together. Owner and GM Jerry Jones has hinted that the team could be active before Tuesday's trade deadline, but in football that could be like putting a Band-Aid over a major puncture wound. There is simply no way to stop the bleeding.
