The Mavericks came three wins shy of winning the Larry O'Brien Trophy in last season's NBA Finals, but they will have another opportunity to win a new trophy in the coming months.

The NBA on Thursday unveiled 30 new court designs for each team's participation in the second annual NBA Cup, formerly known as the in-season tournament.

Dallas has a revamped version of last year's alternate course, which features a bold royal blue base with the city's skyline highlighted in silhouette. The team's main logo remains on midfield, with the tournament's championship trophy visible underneath. The base of the trophy can also be seen at both ends of the pitch.

The Mavericks will play their two home games at an alternate site during the season.

The Mavericks will debut their new spot on November 19th when the New Orleans Pelicans visit the American Airlines Center for the first home game of the NBA Cup in Dallas. The field will also be used on Dec. 3 against the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas' final game in the group play phase of the tournament.

The Mavericks belong to West Group C, which also includes the Grizzlies, Pelicans, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets.

There were several issues with some of the courts used in last season's tournament. In the Mavericks' opening game on the road against the Nuggets, an incorrectly measured 3-point line had to be set before tipoff. In New Orleans, Luka Doncic was not happy with the quality of the pitch after a loss to the Pelicans.

The Mavericks were unable to use their backup court for the first game of last season's in-season tournament because “a manufacturing issue” prevented the court from being delivered in time for a game against the LA Clippers.

During the second home tournament game against the Houston Rockets, the field was reportedly defective. Last season's pitch was mostly silver, matching the design of last season's 'City Edition' kits.

The Mavericks finished 2-2 in last season's tournament and did not qualify for the Knockout Stage.
