Dave Portnoy attacks Zach Bryan over his shock breakup with his Barstool colleague with a brutal Taylor Swift tweet

Dave Portnoy is targeting Zach Bryan after the country singer's shock split from Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna Chickenfry.

Bryan, 28, first announced on his Instagram Story on Tuesday with a lengthy statement that they had parted ways after more than a year.

But just over 30 minutes later, 25-year-old Brianna – real name Brianna LaPaglia – announced she was taking a social media break after feeling “really blindsided.”

Amid the controversy, Portnoy went to X and said he was dedicating the Taylor Swift song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to Chickenfry, taking a clear swipe at Bryan.

Barstool Sports boss Portnoy co-hosts the podcast “BFFs” with Chickenfry and TikTok influencer Josh Richards.

Portnoy said he dedicated the Taylor Swift song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to her.

'“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” is from Swift's most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, and seemed to hint at her heartbreak when her relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy ended.

Swift was in a whirlwind romance with Healy – which was never immediately confirmed – which began in April 2023 after they were spotted kissing in New York City.

But the affair ended as quickly as it began, after Healy's “bad boy” image and his “racist” comments caused Swift to face lightning-fast backlash.

Bryan's announcement, meanwhile, came a day after fans speculated that he and Chickenfry had gone their separate ways.

A Reddit user claimed to have seen Zach on the celebrity dating app Raya with photos of his alleged profile, in addition to a mysterious message shared by Chickenfry.

It read: “And at some point you will realize that life goes on, even if you don’t want it to,” the message read. “The days will pass and the world will move as you ask it to stop.”

“They will believe that life is cruel if you carry on while your feet are stuck.”

“You will find people and moments responsible for your concrete feet.”

“Then the morning will come when you wake up and realize that things move on, life isn’t cruel, your feet are.”

“The world keeps turning hoping to show you that you can do it too.”

The former couple has been together since July 2023

Bryan announced their split on Tuesday in a statement he posted to his Instagram Story

Brianna alluded to the breakup with her own message, saying she felt “really blindsided.”

The country singer, who has been dating Brianna since July 2023, then posted on his account on Tuesday: “I want to address something: Brianna and I have separated (sic) and I respect and love her from the bottom of my heart.” She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that.

“I've personally had an incredibly tough year and have had to go through some pretty bad things.” I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we went down different paths. I am not perfect and never will be.

“Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this matter, and if that’s in your heart, mine too.”

“To all that I am and to everyone I have let down, I am sorry.” I do my best in everything. I have let down people who love me and especially myself.'

About 30 minutes after Bryan posted his message, the Barstool Sports star posted her own.

Although she didn't say anything about the split, she seemed to allude to her split from Zach, as she said she was feeling “really blindsided” at the moment.

“Hey guys, I'm feeling really blindsided right now.” I'm going to stay off social media for a while and try to heal privately. When I'm ready, I'll be back and ready to talk.

“I love you so much, thank you for all your kind words.” “Remember that you are so loved and that everything will always be okay.”

Brianna confirmed they were dating in July 2023, and the then-couple made their red carpet debut at the Grammy Awards in February.
