Warm and dry for the coming week. Are you used to that now?

I can say Thursday and Friday will be pleasant, but the overall trend is keeping temperatures above average. A weak system approaches Thursday, bringing cooler air and gusty winds up to 40 mph. Winds will calm down a bit on Friday with windy conditions reaching speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. It's going to be a beautiful autumn afternoon and evening!

That's really all we're waiting for over the next few days… but the extended forecast is where things get interesting.

A strong low pressure system could bring lots of cold air and rain/snow risks sometime next week.

At this point I would avoid getting upset about the chance of snow on the plains. The ensemble data is split, even the snow data suggests the airport is only an inch or two. The storm is still approximately seven days away, so we will continue to monitor trends and adjust the forecast as necessary.
