MINNEAPOLIS – After the wettest Halloween on record in the Twin Cities, we're ending the week warmer and mostly dry.

Highs will be in the 40s and 50s across the state on Friday. Clearing skies and calm winds will cause patchy fog early, especially over snow-covered areas. A NEXT driving warning applies due to the wet and possibly icy road conditions on Friday morning.

Isolated showers are possible in the north in the evening.

Temperatures will rise to the high 50s and 60s over the weekend. Widespread rainfall will occur on Sunday, continuing into Monday and could reach up to 5cm in some places.

By midweek next week we will see highs in the low 50s and calmer conditions as it becomes drier.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday was the wettest Halloween on record in the Twin Cities. A total of 1.26 inches of rain and melted snow surpassed the previous record of 0.85 inches of liquid that fell during the year Halloween blizzard of 1991.
